Atlanta Tops Coastal Empire 77-72 To Advance

The Atlanta Angels were the underdog to make out the Southeast division of the WABA. Coming into the playoffs with 6-2 record things didn’t look very promising for an Atlanta team. Who had to go on the road to face an undefeated Coastal Empire Lady Monarchs team.

With a one-game elimination and the winner moves on to the WABA Championship on the line. The Atlanta Angels were able to pull off a stunning  77-72 win on the road. The win shocked the WABA community and proves that with hard work and determination anything possible.

“We earned this win. It was a hard fought game, truly intense because of what was in the line. I’m extremely proud of my players, who showed tremendous character in adversity (being down 14 points at the start of the 4th quarter). They dug deep and pulled it out. Says Atlanta’s head coach Rita Hayward.

The Angels will now wait for the winner of the Jersey Express and DC Cyclones, game. To see who they face in the WABA Championship. Atlanta Angels owner “Melissa Johnson” couldn’t contain her excitement as she blurted out “We’re coming to Jersey!!!!!”
